The brief
Wray & Nephew, the Jamaican rum brand, teamed up with Pop Brixton for an activation in Brixton, and wanted a big, bright BRIXTON sign that people would stop in front of and photograph.
We made it as one freestanding piece. Seven built-up letters spell BRIXTON across 2850 mm, with the White Overproof Rum banner running through them, and they sit on a 3000 mm long plinth printed in green with the Wray & Nephew × Pop Brixton names on the front.
The letters are rim and return, lit through their faces: 5 mm opal acrylic faces glow evenly, with the banner line blocked out of the face as on the artwork. The rims, returns and backs are powder coated, so the letters look finished from every side.
Before anything was made, the client approved the drawing, with every size set out.
Drawn before it’s made.
Every job starts with a visual and drawings for the client to approve. Production starts once the proof is signed off.
